Confirmation Preparation is a 3 year process beginning in 9th grade. Catholic School students are required to attend confirmation sessions and retreats, but not weekly religious education.
1st Reconciliation & Communion typically occur in 2nd grade. All first communion children are to attend religious education even if they already attend Catholic School.
Religious Education is held from September-May every year. Currently our primary religious education program is held at Resurrection.
Families wishing to register with another program can do so, but work with our DRE Christine Babik to ensure proper records are kept.
Registration is held in every year in the month of August.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION STUDENTS

Young people not attending Catholic School are expected to register for Religious Education. Please use the registration form below. Textbook Fee is $20
Classes run from 9:00am to 10:15am at the Resurrection Parish Center for grades K-8, Oratory Hall for 9 -10, and the Oratory for 11th.
Overview of the Process
Confirmation in the Dicoese of Altoona-Johnstown is typically held in the 11th grade year.
Preparations occur over the course of three years
(typically 9th, 10th, and 11th)
Confirmation Preparation is conducted separately from Parish based Religious Education Program.
Students attending Catholic High School are not required to attend Parish Religious Education Programs but ARE required to attend preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation with those students who attend Religious Education.
